(Witness) Will16 Aug 1699Miles Pinckney was referred to in the will of Miles Pinckney on 16 Aug 1699 at Esh, England, ; In the Name of God Amen I Miles Pinckney of Esh in ye County of
Durham gentleman being sick of body but of Sound and perfect understanding
and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in writing
in manner following (that is to say) first and principally I give and bequeath my
Soul unto God my Maker hoping for remission and pardon of my soul by the merits
and suffering of my blessed Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus And in
order to settle ye worthy fate (or grateful part thereof) which God hath
[been] pleased to [endue] me withall I have by one or more Surrender
or Surrenders duly made and accounted by one or more copy or copy’s of
Court Roll of ye Mannor of Bondgate in Darlington Surrendered all my
Mortgages Lands, Tenements Closes and parcells of ground with their appurtences
lying within ye said Mannor of Bondgate aforesaid and parcel thereof And ye
Reversion and Inheritances thereof unto George Biggins [proprietor] In trust and
to and for such uses intents and purposes and I shall by my last Will limitt and share
Now my Will and mind is as to the said Messuage Lands, Tenements and Premises and I
do hereby order and devise ye same to be sold as soon as conveniently they
can be after my decease for ye Cost rate or Value can be got for ye Same
and out of ye purchase money got for ye Same foresaid in ye first place
order that ye money already charged thereupon with all ye Interest and due
for ye same shall be paid and satisfied and the overplus of ye said
purchase money (over and above ye said debt and Interest so charged or
due out of ye same) I do give and dispose of the same as follows
herewith for my Will and mind is that my loving brother Thomas Pinckney
shall during his natural life have ye Interest and product of all ye said
overplus purchase money and until ye said Lands shall be got sold the
Rents and Profits thereof (above what shall discharge the Interest of ye
debt thereupon) to his own use without any Amount And after ye
death of my said brother Thomas Pinckney Then I do hereby devise and
dispose of all ye said overplus purchase money unto my Nephews and
Neices John Pinckney, Miles Pinckney, George Pinckney, William Pinckney and
Catherine Pinckney, Mary Pinckney and Ann Pinckney all children of
my ye said brother Thomas Pinckney equally to be divided amongst them
[This] as to ye debt of One hundred pounds – due from my said brother Thomas
to me and I do hereby remit unto him ye [erasures…………….………………../………………………………………………………../…………………………………………………..]
said debt and all Interest due
to me for ye same and all severalitys and debts due from him to me ………
And for ye better disposing of ye said Messuages Lands, Tenements and Premises
aforesaid be ye ends and purposes aforesaid I do hereby desire my good
friend Anthony Salvin Esquire who is interested in ye said premises to be
aiding and assessing in ye Sale of ye said Premises and to joyne therein for
ye more speedy satisfying of himself and authorising ye ends and
purposes aforesaid And to and for all other my Messuages, Lands, Tenements,
debts, Sums of money goods, chattels and personal effects
not by me otherwise hereby dispose of I give and devise ye Same unto my said
brother Tho: Pinckney And I do make ye said Thomas
sole Executor of this my last Will and testament hereby revoking and annulling all Wills by me at any time

sixteenth day of August in ye Twelth year of ye Reign of our Sovereign and Lord King William ye Third over England and in Anno Domini 1699
