This list is very interesting It starts with William Pinckney, a Tailor from Sessay in Yorkshire. It is interesting because the majority of people that I have come across from Yorkshire have spelt their name as Pinkney. This branch of the family shows that it started as Pinckney but through all lines of the family at some point the name changed to Pinkney. Eventually the Pinckney spelling has been lost altogether.
