Note* | Aaron Pinckney There is no hard proof that Aaron's parents were George and Mary in that I have not found a baptism or will to link him. However, the following details convince me that it is correct. 1) In 1799 Aaron is mentioned in Miltary records as being in "Hindon Troop. Of Knighton". In the same year his brother George has exactly the same record. 2) Aaron died in 1812 in Broad Chalke, sister Charlotte and brother William were baptised in Broad Chalke and mother Mary was buried there in 1807 3) Mother Mary's bruial record gives her residence as Knighton. 4) Both Charlotte's and William's baptisms lists their parents as George and Mary 5) Sister Sarah was married in Broad Chalke in 1798 6) Aaron's only son was called Henry Frederick Augustus born in 1805, his brother George had a son called Frederick George Augustus born in 1806 7) We know that Aaron was associated with the Army in 1799 and his brother George stayed in the Army and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel 8) The assumed date of Aaron's birth fits perfectly between his sister Sarah and brother George There are too many coincidences in my mind for George and Mary not to be Aaron's parents. | |
