This matches her father's place of residence at the time her parents were married. Her birth is officially recorded as Thatcham in Berkshire which is where her parents were married. My guess would be that she was actually born in Bedminster then brought home to Thatcham where her birth was registered. The year of her birth is also changable. It was actually registered in 1834 which matches what was stated in the 1851 census but later censuses are inconsistent giving a birth year of either 1841 or 1845. I have recorded what is backed by the facts. |

Citations
- I had initially thought that Rosamond's mother's maiden name was Steer as it was not an unusual practice to give a child's middle name as their mother's maiden name. However, I believe that it is a family name but not her mother's maiden name. Her mother's maiden name was Machin but on the marriage record witnesses are named as 'John Steer', 'Harriott Machin' and 'Mary Anne Steer'.
